Interactive Participation in Real-Life Detection

For the launch of the "CrimesSolvers" channel, we developed the first in a series of interactive "Unsolved" features, engaging site visitors in the crime-solving process.
We posted actual evidence files from an unsolved case:
- Autopsy files
- Case notes
- Crime scene photos
The investigating officer and FBI profiler John Douglas discussed their theories of the case with visitors in message boards and live chats.
The feature was a finalist for the 1999 Scripps Howard Foundation's National Journalism Award for Web Reporting.
