In 1999 I established the content strategy for this new channel about real-life unsolved mysteries and project managed its launch and campaign.
Cutting-edge technology put site visitors closer than they’d ever been before to actual crime scenes:
- 360-degree photos of crime scenes
- Actual police and autopsy files of unsolved crimes
- Live audio of police scanners nationwide
- Articles and live chats with a famed FBI profiler and author
Chat rooms enabled site visitors to discuss the evidence and posit theories about the crimes, involving them in the detecting process as no other medium could—applying the open source movement to crime solving.
The channel had a rabidly devoted fan base, who felt they were experiencing the detective process first-hand.
